So this time next week is the big one. My 10k race in aid of my local hospice, with my aunty (as my mentor, running buddy and overall emotional support) and my team mates from work I will complete the race and above all enjoy myself. I'd love to be able do it in 1hr 15 minutes, but I'm not going to push myself too much as burn out is the last thing I need. My battle plan is take it at as steady pace for 99% of it, and then give it everything I have in the last few hundred meters to the finish line.
Looking back on the last few weeks, I can safely say I have so much more confidence in my self and my running ability compared to all those weeks ago when I did my first training session, suffered through it and suffered afterwards. But hey I am still running, I have been getting new personal bests at my local ParkRun when I have took part and overall I have trained thoroughly and this will be one of the best sunday afternoons I've had in a while
